RANT POETRY COMPETITION EXTENSION

I have been very busy lately, to say the least, and haven’t promoted this month’s poetry compettion at all. That being said, I’m extending the competition for entries until October 28th. If you’re interested, please enter. You can follow THIS LINK to find more info.

RANT POETRY COMPETITION ROUND 3

WHAT?

The third ever Rant Poetry Competition. Contestants have until Saturday,  October 13th at midnight(Denver Time) to write a poem on a certain subject.

The subject does not have to be the main theme of the poem. It can just be a word in a line, but it must have something to do with the subject. The poem must be 1500 words or less. Sorry, James Joyce.

The top three poems will be posted Tuesday, October . The poem with the most “likes” will then be featured for the month of October and November as the Featured Poem (and poet) on Flashlight City Blues.

WHEN?

Starting now, and through Saturday night at Midnight, Denver time, contestants can submit their poem of 1500 words or less to rantpoetrycompetition@gmail.com.

WHERE?

Anywhere and everywhere! Keep in mind, you do not have to have a WordPress to enter the competition.

WHO?

Anyone, unless you have been a past winner of the Rant Poetry Competition. (See Previous Winner’s Posts Here).

The theme for this month’s Rant Poetry Competition is:

ROBOT

Interpret as you will. Write about technology. Write about how we are all sheep, doing what we’re programmed to do. Write about how we’re not. Doesn’t matter, just as long as it somehow involves the theme “robot.”

Send submissions (limit one per contestant) to rantpoetrycompetition@gmail.com. Please include your name, as you want it listed, and if you’d like, your blog and / or website.

Thank you all for your time and interest,

Love,
Brice

THIS MONTH, THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE A COPY OF MY BOOK, ENJOY YOUR POPCORN, AS SOON AS THEY ARE AVAILABLE (NO LATER THAN THE END OF NOVEMBER)

Congratulations, Pattie Flint!

You are the second ever winner of the Rant Poetry Competition!

Pattie’s Poem, on the assigned subject of “Exit,”, is incredible. Through her poem, Exit Strategy for a Wednesday Night, Pattie captured something in a very real, yet still whimsical way.

You can view the poem, and comment here.

Thank you to everyone who participated in any way, shape or form in this competition.

Be on the look out for next month’s competition come the end of September.

If you’d like to be informed of Rant Poetry Competitions, please send a blank e-mail with the subject “Monthly Rant” to rantpoetrycompetition@gmail.com.

Also, check out my most recent poem, NUCLEAR CREATION.

RANT POETRY COMPETITION 2.0 – AND THE FINALISTS ARE…

Pattie Flint, Rebecca Kerr and Jenna Tameris!

Out of tons of entries, we all decided that these ladies’ poems were the best we received on the subject of “Exit.”

Below you will find the three poems posted. Voting will be open, based on “likes” tonight and all day tomorrow.

I have to say this month’s submissions blew last month’s out of the water. Judging this was very difficult. I was so inspired by these poems, and though I was hesitant on using the subject “exit”, I am so glad I did. It was amazing how many ways these poets crafted their poems from one word.

I’d like to also announce that if in the future you would like a reminder about this monthly poetry contest, please send a blank e-mail, subject “MONTHLY RANT” to rantpoetrycompetition@gmail.com.

Thank you all for your time and patience.

Please vote below.

Love,

Brice

Check out last month’s winner, Shoshana Sarah.

Also, here’s a listing of the blogs that competed in the competition. They were all amazing. Please take a minute and check them out.
